Football company set to organise reality tv show for talents at grassroots Grassroots By Victor Okoye Abuja, Oct. 23, 2018 (NAN) A Football Marketing Company, known as Patoz Football Concept on Tuesday said it was set to organise a football reality TV show for young talents at the grassroots in Nigeria. Patrick Attah, the company’s Managing Director told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the show with the theme: “The Next Naija Football Superstar” was meant for young boys at the grassroots between the ages of 16 to 22. Attah said the concept was borne out of the need to develop the next generation of football superstars in the country. “We are the first reality football show in Nigeria, we give a platform that is equal to non in the football industry. “Our platform is the most transparent and entertaining in the whole football selection processes across Nigeria. “The show will expose the selected players in a live television for the period of 60 days and will give Nigerians the opportunity to vote for their preferred players within the period in question,” he said. He said that the vision of the company was to use the power of television to entertain and create a viable platform for raw untapped talent in Nigeria and beyond. “We want to use the power of television to create a platform for a viable and vibrant Nigeria youth to use the platform to sell their God-given talent to the nation and the world at large. “We also want to use football as a global language to preach peace and unity across Nigeria and the world at large,” he said. He revealed that the registration of all interested participants would start from Nov. 1 and run through Jan. 31. “The forms will be made available online at www.patozfootballconcept.com or www.nextnaijafootballsuperstar.com for intending players to register and choose their convenient centres between Nov. 1 to Jan. 31. “The screening and selection process begins from Feb. 8 to March 20. Selected first grade coaches will select players from different centres which cuts across 15 states of the federation. “The screening centres include, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Ibadan, Enugu, Owerri, Uyo, Delta, Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto, Gombe, Markurdi, Jos and FCT. “There will be an open camp for 60 selected players from March 30 to April 26, while 30 players will make the final 30-man squad for the show. “The reality TV show proper kicks off from May 5 to July 6. “The show will include so many activities which aims to thrill, educate and entertain millions of viewers across the country. “Apart from football, there will a dancing competition, free styling, jogging, swimming competitions and soccer legends such as Kanu Nwankwo and Austin Jay Jay Okocha as well as celebrities in the music and movie industries will also be part of the show,” he said. He added that the show promises to be fun and educative as these players will also be given some useful tips that will help them in their career. “Football is an act and so the players must learn to be disciplined, punctual and of good behavior on and off the pitch. “Viewers will have the opportunity to vote their favourite players from time to time based on their performance. “You may be a good footballer but still be voted out probably because you exhibited some bad behaviour. “Awards will be given to five players in different categories including the most valuable player, the highest goal scorer, the best midfielder and goalkeeper. “They will be presented with various mouth-watering cash prizes and the winning team will be sent to at least three countries in Europe for trials, all expense paid by Patoz Football Concept Ltd.,” he said.
