Football Stakeholders Demands Immediate withdrawal of DSS From Glasshouse By Niyi Busari Major stakeholders in Nigeria football on Friday approached the leadership of Department of State Security Service (DSS) in Abuja to lodge complaints against the conduct of the operatives who illegally occupying the NFF headquarter. The five-man delegation demanded for the immediate withdrawal of the DSS operatives from the Glass house before the situation get out of hand. In the past few weeks, men of DSS have brazenly attacked and disturbed the peace of staffers of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, by driving them out of office even when they are still busy carrying out their duties. The stakeholders who contacted and briefed Falana & Falana Chambers may be forced to approach the court for contempt proceedings against persons who have decided to stop the court of respect. "The Order of the Supreme Court cannot and should not be taken to the dogs" the delegate told the DSS leadership during the meeting. The five wise men seek the indulgence of the Acting Director General of the DSS, Mr Mathew Seiyefa, to withdrawal his men immediately as a mark of respect for the Supreme Court. They also added that Ambassador Chris Giwa is the only recognised President of the NFF by the pronouncement of the court. In a statement made available to www.bsnsports.com.ng, titled; 'DSS AND ILLEGAL OCCUPATION OF NFF' which reads: "All pending in Nigeria football since the Court Orders. As major stakeholders in the management of Nigeria football, we take exception to the continued impunity which the operatives of the Department of State Security Service (DSS) brazenly attacked and disturbed the peace of staffers of the Nigeria football Federation. "In the view of the foregoing, we seek the indulgence of the Acting Director General of the DSS, Mr Mathew Seiyefa to tow the line of his maiden media briefing to withdraw his men IMMEDIATELY as a mark of respect for Supreme Court. " Ambassador Chris Giwa is the only recognised president of the NFF by the pronouncement of the court." The statement which was signed by all the five football stakeholders in Nigeria among which are: Jarret Tenebe, Chief Victor Rumson Baribote, Harrison Jalla, Olajide Fashikun and Barrister Faye Jacob. The meeting also had the Acting Director General of the DSS, Mr Mathew Seiyefa as well as the other prominent leaders of the Security Service in attendance.
