Foreign Coaches Are Not Better Than Nigerian Coaches - Folabi Ojekunle
Udala FC new coach Folabi Ojekunle says Nigeria possesses talented and good coaches that can withstand any foreign coaches if given the level playing ground, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
Folley as he his fondly called by his admirers, who studied his coaching course in England and served his Industrial Training (IT) under Harry Redknapp in 2011 argued that no coach has achieved as much as late Stephen Keshi as Super Eagles handler. Despite numbers of foreign coaches Nigeria has engaged, none of them could win the African Nations Cup title under few years as head coach.
Folley says he could not pick former Super Eagles coach, Clemens Westerhof as a better manager to Keshi because the former spent more years before winning the title in 1994.
Speaking with BSN Sports on Kwara Ladies FC WhatsApp platform, the Lagos based coach said: "No, foreign coach is not better than Nigerian coaches. I’ll make this clear to you.
"Now I put it to everyone here tonight that no Super Eagles coach has surpassed Stephen Keshi’s records.
I would have said clement westerhof but he spends more years at than Keshi at our senior national team than Keshi."
He added that the Nigerian women national team, Super Falcons have dominated Africa for many years with Nigerian coaches as handlers.
"Our female team have Been a dominant in Africa for many years with Nigeria 🇳🇬 coaches so why foreign coach?" He asked rhetorically.
"We have fantastic, good, great coaches in Nigeria that’ll deliver anytime any day." He concluded.
