Former Falconets Coach Outlines What NFF Needs To Do To Stop National Teams Poor Performances
By Niyi Busari
Former Assistant Coach of the Nigeria U20 Women's national team, Mansur Abdullahi, has urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to make a coach as Chairman of the federation's Technical Committee, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Mansur opined that having a coach as chairman of the committee will bring an end to the poor performances of the Nigeria national teams.
Since the return of football in 2020, Nigeria national teams have not won a single match in 8 games.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with BSN Sports in Abuja, he said, "I am not happy with the way our underage teams are been knocked out of regional competitions. This means, both the Flying Eagles and Golden Eaglets are out of their different African Cup of Nations. Again, the Technical Committee of Nigeria Football Federation needs to be looked into. Yes, I agreed that Ahmed Yusuf Fresh is the Chairman of Technical Committee and also a member of CAF. Also, Nasarawa state FA Chairman, Isaac Danladi is also part of the Committee. But there is no single coach in the committee. If it is a mistake, the NFF should correct that as soon as possible. Look at Referee Committee, a lot of referees are the members of the committee, same goes to Players Union Committee which is filled with former players why is Technical Committee different? He asked rhetorically.
He believed having technically sound coaches in the Technical Committee of the NFF will return Nigeria football back to the glory days.
"I will advise that they include sound technicians in the committee. Nigeria has a lot of them. A coach suppose to be the chairman of Technical Committee. If things are done the way they should be done, I believe we will come back the glory days."
