Former Interim CAF President Step Down AS FA President After 18 Years By Sampson Adedeji After much complains and pressure, former interim president of Confederation of African Football (CAF) Constant Omari has stepped down from his position as the President of DR Congo Football Federation, BSNSports.com.ng can reports. He attained the position in 2003 and his reign has been characterised by controversies and crisis. After working as CAF vice president for some time, he was appointed as interim president of the body following premature ouster of Ahmad Ahmad. He announced his departure on Wednesday through a press conference. "It is with my head held high that I decided to return the apron and leave the Fecofa ", launched the leader at a press conference. “ It is since March that I started my reflection, the day after the match against Gabon (synonymous with non-qualification for CAN 2021). I said it was high time to leave Fecofa, and allow another generation to move on to another experience," he said. The 1st vice-president Donatien Tshimanga will take over the interim.
