French Authority Launch Investigation Into Osimhen's Napoli Move By Sampson Adedeji French newspaper, L'Equipe, has reveals that the French authorities are investigating the transfer of Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen from Lille to Italia Serie A side Napoli, BSNSports.com.ng can reports. There are a lot of question marks about the deal, even as it was struck over the past summer. Gérard Lopez was at the head of the Ligue 1 club at the time, but has left the club. It was apparently the new owners who arrived in December and raised some doubts about accounting for transfers among them, the sale of Osimhen to Napoli was credited with 81.3 million euros but the team claimed the transfer only provided LOSC Lille with a profit of less than €10million. According to CalcioNapoli24.it, the problems are purely linked to the Lille accounts and Napoli does not risk the investigation. The lack of profit at this time could be due to the fact that the deal was agreed to be paid in installments over a period of several years. It has already been widely reported that Lille will only receive around €40m in cash, with an additional €10m in performance-related bonuses. The investigation has nothing to do with the player as he will continue to represent the Naples based club.
