The contract of Super Eagles defender, Elderson Echijiele at French Club, AS Monaco has been terminated.
Echiejile featured in 54 matches for the former French Champions, scoring two goals with one assist.
The club on Friday wrote on their official website: AS Monaco and Elderson have terminated by mutual agreement the contract that binds them as of today.
AS Monaco wishes him good luck for the rest of his career.
Before being finally shown the exit doors, Echiejile has found first-team opportunities hard to come by in his last two seasons at Monaco and had to be shipped out on loan to Standard Liege, Sporting Gijon, Sivasspor and Cercle Brugge.
Now, Echiejile who began his career in Europe with Rennes in 2007 before moving to Sporting Braga, where he spent four years will have to find new employers.
Though the vastly-experienced full back was a member of the Super Eagles squad to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, he was an unused substitute in the three group games against Croatia, Iceland and Argentina.
He has also been omitted from the 24-man Super Eagles’ list for the September 8 AFCON Qualifiers against Seychelles.
