French Cup: Maja leads Bordeaux to victory

By Sampson Adedeji

After he was omitted from the last international friendly match against Brazil, striker Josh Maja has continued to knock on Super Eagles' door for the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier in November when he helped Bordeaux secured a 2-0 victory against Dijon in French Cup, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Maja was the hero on Tuesday night in French cup as Bordeaux defeated Dijon 2-0 in the competition to progress to the next round.

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr left out Girondin Bordeaux striker for the clash against Selecao but the striker is announcing himself working hard to be considered for the qualifiers.

The former Sunderland striker opened the scoring in the 8th minute before Nicolas Previle doubled the advantage to secure the win in the 94th minute of the game.

It is yet to be seen if Rohr will consider Maja for the double header qualifying matches against Lesotho and Benin.
