French Cup: Maja on target in Bordeaux defeat

It was a mixed feelings for Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Josh Maja in the French Cup round of 32 between his club Girondin Bordeaux and third tier club Pau.

Maja has been one of the revelation of the club this season with his amazing performance both in the league and cup games.

It was Mustapha Name that opened the scoring for the host in the 24th minute before Maja netted the equalizer in the 41st minute.

Yankuba Jarju doubled their lead on 44 minutes, before De Preville equalised for Bordeaux with eight minutes remaining in the game.

Lamine Gueye shocked Bordeaux with the winning goal three minute from time and send Pau into the round of 16.

Maja has now scored 7 goals for Bordeaux in all competition this season.
