French Ligue one: Kalu returns in Bordeaux home defeat

Fit again Nigeria's Super Eagles winger Samuel Kalu returned to action in Girondin Bordeaux line up on Sunday in their 0-1 home loss to St. Etienne in the French Ligue one match, BSNSports reports.

BSN reports that Kalu missed Super Eagles international friendly match against Brazil in Singapore last weekend due to injury he sustained while on club duty,

He started the match on Sunday making all sorts of dangerous moves into the opponent penalty box.

After a goalless first half Kalu was substituted in the 55th minute for Korea Republic attacker Jo Hwang.

But it was Etienne that broke the deadlock from the penalty spot in the 90th minute through Denis Bouanga and secured the maximum three points for the visitors.

Kalu resumption will surely gladden the heart of Super Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr ahead of the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin and Lesotho in November.
