French Ligue One: Simon's Nantes Survive Relegation By Sampson Adedeji It was a sweet day for Nigeria's Super Eagles winger Moses Simon as his French club FC Nantes survived the relegation, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The club spent larger part of the just concluded season in the relegation zone due to poor form. Despite struggling at the other end of the table they did enough to qualify for play off against Toulouse. In the play off, they secured 1-2 away win against Toulouse and needed not to concede two goals in the second leg in order to stay up. The second leg started with Nantes dominating the game and Simon putting Toulouse defenders on their toes. Bayo netted the only goal of the game in 62nd minute and condemned Nantes to a narrow defeat. Simon was replaced in the 83rd for a defender in order to protect the game and it paid off as Nantes retained its ligue one status.
