French Open: Ons Jabeur Through To Third Round, Lloyd Harris, Kelvin Anderson Crash Out By Uche Dozie It has been a mixture of win and lose for African tennis players involved in the ongoing French Open with Tunisia's Ons Jabeur being the only African left in the tournament, BSNSports.com.ng reports. It's a different story for South African duo Kelvin Anderson and Llyod Haris who crashed out in the first and second round respectively. Ons Jabeur, the first Arab to reach the quarter-finals of a grand slam has held on to win her first and second matches in this year's French Open. She advanced to the second round with a 7-5, 6-2 over 2-time quarter-finalist Yulia Putintseva despite a quick visit from the doctor on court. Jabeur got her revenge after winning Astra Sharma in a rematch of their Charleston final from a couple of months ago where she defeated the Tunisian. It didn't take long before the 26-year-old eased past Sharma 7-5, 6-2. She looks good to better her run to the fourth round last year as she goes against Magda Linette. "I went for my revenge," Jabeur said after the game. "I tried not to do the same mistakes that I did last time. I'm pretty happy with my performance. It was kind of tight at the end, but I'm glad that I got the win." Anderson, former world No.5 lost in the first round at Roland Garros against Kwon Soon-woo 7-5, 6-4, 2-6, 7-6(4). Lloyd Harris was safely through to the second round at after a 7-5, 6-4, 6-4 victory over world No.28 Lorenzo Sonego of Italy. He however lost in four sets to British world Number 45 Cameron Norrie 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, 6-2 in the singles second round.
