Okechukwu Gabriel begins life in Wydad on a high:

CHAN eagles forward, Gabriel Okechukwu has begun life at Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca on a high as the Water FC of Abuja product scored and also had an assist in his first game in the colours of the club.
The game, a friendly against second division side Widad Temara, saw the Nigerian international who featured for the entire duration of the game for the CAF Champions League campaigners, impress and he registered his first goal for the club in the 32nd minute with a cool finish.
Okechukwu also had an assist as the game ended 3-3.
Speaking to AOIFootball.com from his base in Casablanca, the former Akwa United man is hopeful his time with Wydad will be rewarding as he aims to give his best whenever he is given a chance to play.
“I feel great that I have started on an exciting note. It was good to have scored and also assist in the game. Though it is a friendly, I really can’t wait for my first competitive game for my new club,” he said.
Okechukwu also revealed he feels at home at the club, especially with the presence of countryman and same academy product Michael Babatunde who has settled in at the club, whilst believing the two can form a deadly partnership.
