GALADIMA QUITS HIS POSITION AS THE CHAIRMAN OF KANO STATE SPORTS COMMISSION.
By Abdulgafar Oladimeji, Kano.
The Executive chairman, Kano state Sports Commission (KSSC) Ibrahim Galadima has relinquish his position as chief sports administrator of the state.
Galadima on Monday at KSSC conference hall located on Sani Marshal road, handed over the administration of sports in the state to the newly appointed Permanent secretary, Kano state ministry of youths and sports, Ibrahim Ahmed Sagagi, pending the appointment of a commissioner who is expected to take full charge of affairs at the newly created ministry.
In his farewell remarks, the former chairman of the defunct, Nigeria Football Association,(NFA) said “the three years of service as Executive chairman of the commission has been tedious.”
He further said “ I held the office in trust for Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, integrity was my watch words, as I implore us all to continue to work for the construction of modern sports facilities, attract sponsors to Kano sports sector and also continue to encourage our athletes to pursue their studies seriously.”
The renown sports administrator also thanked KSSC board members, members of staff of the commission and other critical stakeholders, while appealing to the state Deputy Governor, Dr Nasiru Gawuna not to relent in rendering his ever unflinching total support to the growth of sports in the state.
In his acceptance speech, the Permanent Secretary Kano state ministry of Youths and Sports, Ibrahim Ahmed Sagagi said the ministry will sustain the legacies laid down by those saddled with responsibility to run activities in the state.
Our correspondent gathered that the exit from Kano sports by Galadima is in compliance with a directive from the office of the state Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje which ordered all political appointees and head of parastatals to hand over their offices to persons next on the hierarchy.
