Gazientep, Kayode Fail To Agree On Personal Terms
By Sampson Adedeji
The discussions between Turkish Super Lig side Gazientep and Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Kayode Olarenwaju has finally collapsed after the two parties failed to agreed on personal terms, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Kayode was on loan to Gazientep last season from the Ukrainian side Shaktar Donesk and was able to distinguished himself with the team.
Shaktar and Gazientep have agreed a deal for the striker but the huge salary of Kayode seems to have derailed the contract.
"With Larry Kayode, who joined our Gaziantep Football Club on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk club in Ukraine during the summer transfer period of the 2019-2020 season, a meticulous work was carried out to continue with our club in the coming seasons.
"It was stated to our player that we want him to stay in our club before the season is over, and Kayode responded to this request in the same way and stated that he wanted to stay in Gaziantep by expressing his happiness.
As of the end of the 2019-2020 season, our club has fulfilled its financial obligations to Kayode like all our footballers.
"Despite the great damages of the pandemic process to world football, our management setup has always maintained its sensitivity and made the payments to our Professional Football Team as promised.
"In line with these developments, our offer to Larry Kayode and his club continued in the past weeks, but the transfer negotiations were suspended due to the high salary demand of Kayode's current contract," the club statements reads.
