German Table Tennis League: Aruna Quadri Loses First Game

World number 20 and Nigerian Table Tennis star, Aruna Quadri didn’t get off to a winning start in his first German Table Tennis Bundesliga, TTBL match on Sunday as he suffered a 3-1 defeat to Kilian Ort.

According to kick442.com, Aruna made his debut for TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell and delivered a promising start with an 11:3 win in the first set. His opponent Kilian Ort who represented TSV Bad Königshofen, however, made the world number 20 sweat afterward. Kilian Ort’s strong resistance, turned the game 11:8 and 11:7 to lead the set 2:1 and then used his second match point to make it 11:9.

The result alongside that of Quadri’s teammates ensured that TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell suffered an opening day defeat in the 2020-2021 season after a 3-0 loss to TSV Bad Königshofen.

Aruna Quadri joined German Bundesliga side, TTC RhönSprudel Fulda-Maberzell from Portuguese Club, Sporting ahead of the 2020-2021 season and will hope to bounce back from this defeat in his next game.
