Last month, it was reported that the Ministry of Youth and Sports after a meeting with the Ghana League clubs association has agreed to give financial support to all top-flight clubs. The move had become necessary as a result of the decision by the Ministry to force clubs to play the ongoing football season behind closed doors in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic. Today, information picked up from Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM has indicated that all is set for the government to begin disbursement of GHS50,000 to each club tomorrow. It is understood that the sum will be the first trench of a total of GHS100,000 set to be given to each club this season to mitigate any financial burden arising from playing behind closed doors.
