Gov Dickson Pledges Support For Nigeria Wrestling Federation

Bayelsa Governor Seriake Dickson says the State Government will continue support the Nigeria Wrestling Federation in its quest to get the needed result as the nation's wrestlers prepare for 12th All African Games in Morocco and 2019 World Cup Championship in Kazakhstan.
The Governor who made the pledge during the closing ceremony of the 3rd Gov Dickson Wrestling Classics in Yenagoa highlighted the achievements of the Federation under the leadership of Daniel Igali as impressive, describing , Bayelsa State as the headquarters of Wrestling in Africa. He explained that the Governor Dickson Wrestling Classics would continue after the expiration of his second term in February next year.
While commending the participating teams and wrestlers for putting up brilliant displays, he thanked the organisers of the competition for their consistency and commitment to revive the sports in the state. The number one citizen in the state added that the underlining Philosophy of the tournament is to encourage wrestlers as well as discover talents as a means fostering togetherness. He however directed the Ministry of Sports Development to source and recruit sportsmen and women for employment yearly, stressing that the first one hundred will be employed in a month's time.
