Adamawa State governor, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the immediate reinstatement of Mr Emmanuel Zira as Chairman of the Adamawa United Football Club, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Emmanuel Zira was removed on May 2019 after he led Adamawa United picked the Nigeria Professional Football League ticket shortly after the governor was elected into office.

Ahmadu Fintiri, in a letter made available to BSN Sports orders the immediate reinstatement of Emmanuel Zira and hopes that his return will be a motivation for the club. The letter reads: "Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the reinstatement of Mr Emmanuel Zira as Chairman of the Adamawa United Football Club.

He also congratulates him on his return as the Chairman of the club.

"Governor Fintiri congratulates him over the reinstatement hoping that it will be a motivation to reignite the round leather game and take Adamawa to an enviable position.

He described him as a sport enthusiast and believed the team will return to their good days under his watch.

"A sports enthusiast and administrator, Mr Zira led Adamawa United Football Club of Yola to qualify for the Premier League in the 2005/2006 season. The club currently plays in the elite Nigeria Professional Football League. The appointment is with immediate effect."

Reacting to the reinstatement, an elated Emmanuel Zira believes his removal was illegal and his return to the club as the Chairman after thorough investigations justifies that.

"After my struggle and the team (Adamawa United) got to the Premier League, then there was a change of government. then i was removed unjustly. After investigation was carried out they discovered that i did nothing wrong.

"My removal was wrong and ill-timed because i took the team to the NPFL and i was supposed to put together a Premier league team that will challenge any team for the top position in the league." He concluded

I was removed in 2019 by the then Permanent Secretary in collaboration with some people after the governor came into power before commissioners were appointed.

He questions the quality of players they recruited when he was out and said that was responsible for their shaky performance in the league. He admitted that it will be difficult for him to return the team to the good old days immediately because according to him, it will requires miracle to achieve result with the quality of players recruited..

"I am coming in at a time that a bot late as the league is about to be concluded almost confirmed relegated but i will do my best and bank on miracle because the team has been battered, the recruiting is very poor and it will be a miracle for me to bring the team back."

Before the 2019/20 NPFL league was halted by covid-19, Adamawa United were at the rock bottom of the league table with 20 points from 25 matches.
