Grassroot: Community Sec Sch lifts 16th Olujumu Unity Cup

Community Secondary School (CSS) Ogidi have emerged champion of the 16th edition of Olujumu Unity Cup for held at Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi state.

Community Secondary School Ogidi beat Iffe Secondary Commercial College via penalty 5-3 after a goalless 90 minutes at the Anglican Secondary School football pitch.

CSS goalkeeper, Samuel Arogundade was the Man of the match after saving two penalty kicks.

Sponsor of the unity cup, Chief Bayo Ojo (SAN) said football all over the world has been an instrument for bringing people together.

He urged parents and stakeholders to do more in promoting respect, hardwork and good behavior.

Chief Bayo who was represented by the Director General, Segun Ojo said, "The Technical Committee has performed creditably well and the players have been responsive and responsible in their conduct. It is worthy to note football all over the world has been an instrument for bringing people together.

"The level of moral decadence in our communities is very worrisome and one of the ways we can use in engaging the youths is through sports".

Present at the 16th Olujumu Unity Cup includes; His Royal Majesty, Obaro of Kabba, His Royal Majesty, Olujumu of Ojumu, HisRoyal Highnesses, Ologidi of Ogidi, Olu Adde of Ekirin Ade, Oba Mopa, Oba Egbe amongst others.
