Grassroots: 5-Day Workshop On Developing Skills In Golf Ends In Abuja By Our Reporter A 5-day Workshop on Developing Critical Skills and Knowledge for Business in Golf Industry has ended in Abuja Organised by number one Lady Golf Professional and Golf Instructor, Mrs Uloma Mbuko-Ogbuokiri, the workshop was aimed at teaching the participants on how to be equipped with the necessary technical know-how to become successful in the industry Dr. Elijah Ogbuokiri, an accountant, who took the them on "Entrepreneurship and Small Business, Financial Management in small business as well as Planning and Business Strategy in Small Business" urged the golfers to become proud business owner even while playing for trophy. He said apart from winning laurels, some can become rich through small businesses that related to the Game. While presenting paper on "Innovative and creative thinking", Pius Ekeh Junior told the participants to think outside the box as this will help them to see the potential Golf gave them. Golf International Referee, Instructor and Administrator, Barrister Edwin Ogomegbulem Osuhor who dwelled on the "history of golf, Golf rules, Etiquettes and Tournament Organisation" advised them to always obey the rules of the game as serious penalty awaits defaulters. He said someone can be penalized for violating dressing code especially when not in conformity with the laid down rules and regulations. "If you want to go far in this game, don't cheat and always control your anger as the game of Golf is for men of honour". Nigerian Number one Lady Golf Professional, Mrs Uloma Mbuko- Ogbuokiri who took the trainees on the Fundamentals of Golf Swing and Body connection in Golf believed that a fit body plays better golf. The 5-day event was organised by Elite Global Golf Academy in conjunction with Ojay Travels and Tours. Certificates were presented to all participants.
