Green Growth Foundation Unravel Plans To Develop Sports in Nigeria

CLIMATE CHANGE FOR YOUTHS THROUGH FOOTBALL BY AKPOYIBO GREEN FOUNDATION

The practice pitch inside the mainbowl of the Abuja national stadium on Thursday was a beehive of activities as the Akpoyibo Green Foundation in conjunction with Asteven group organised a three day's football tournament to confer awareness for youths on climate change.

The foundation used football as a tool of mediation that will foster unity as well as promoting climate change.

While speaking to the press, president of the foundation, Dr Sunny Akpoyibo stated that the green growth initiative will help sports growth and development in Nigeria.

Akpoyibo further stressed that the ideology is to engage the youths usefully on how to protect the environment.

"How can we start teaching the youths, by encouraging green growth, green growth is the future and the only promising job the youths have for tomorrow". He believes that adding football and profession makes the youths the future of tomorrow.

The event also saw Nigerian ace nollywood actor and comedian " Ayo Makun" taking part in the football tournament as his introduction in the second half was impactful with two sublime assists that saw the Akpoyibo's foundation came from a goal down to win 2-1 over their opponent's in the opening game.

Speaking shortly after the match, Ayo advised the youths to desist from every societal standards that will lead them into crime, even as he urged them to key into such programs & develop themselves into becoming better humans.

The even which started on Thursday evening is expected to climax on Sunday with subsequent editions to proceed the first.
