Handball Cup of Nations: Nigeria suffers defeat

It was a day to forget for Nigeria's men handball team as they suffered defeat in the opening game against Angola.

The Nigeria side has been camping and acclimatising in Tunisia the venue of the competition since the beginning of the year, playing series of friendly matches.

The team started the match slowly and lost the first half 17-10 with Angola dominating the game.

The Nigeria side improved in the second half but were unable to hold the Angolans who emerged victorious 14-13 and 30-24.

Nigeria will have opportunity to redeem their image on Friday when they face Gabon in the second match of the group.
