Hasaacas Ladies Face Mamelodi Sundowns In CAF Women's Champions League Final
By Niyi Busari
On Friday at the June 30 stadium in Cairo, Ghana's Hasaacas Ladies will face South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns in a clash of titans.
Since the tournament kicked off on November 5, the two teams have shown significant consistency.
Hasaacas Ladies, the most prolific team with two wins and a draw in the group stage, finished first in Group A.
The ladies of Yussif Basigi beat Morocco's ASFAR 2-1 in the semi-final to qualify for the long-awaited final.
During their adventure, the Ghanaian girls scored 10 goals for only 2 for Mamelodi Sundowns.
Sundowns struggled to qualify, securing their place in a penalty shootout against Equatorial Guinea's Malabo King’s after a goalless draw in extra time.
The South Africans bet everything on defense with four clean sheets in as many matches for 4 goals conceded by "Hasmal" of Ghana.
The Brazilians, also undefeated in this tournament, intend to lift the trophy, as did in 2016 the men's section of the South African club in the Champions League.
The third place match will see ASFAR facing Malabo Kings on Thursday November 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the same venue of the June 30 Stadium.
