Hasaacas Ladies, Wadi Degla Record Wins As CAF Women's Champions League Kicks Off on Friday

Hasaacas Ladies handed a 3-1 defeat to Equatorial Guinea’s Malabo Kings at 30 June Stadium to join Wadi Degla on top of Group A after match-day 1 as TotalEnergies CAF Women's Champions League kicked off in Cairo on Friday.
Evelyn Badu opened the scoring at the 12th minute as the opening half ended 1-0 for the Ghanaians.
In the second half, the game became more intense as Pepertual Agyekum doubled Hasaacas Ladies lead with a goal in the 85th minute just five minutes before Drepoba Gbogou decreased the gap for Malabo Kings.
Evelyn Badu then said the final word by completing her brace, scoring the third goal for Hasaacas Ladies to be named Woman of The Match.
Meanwhile, in the competition opener, Wadi Degla had collected their first 3 points of the group stage, beating Mali's AS Mande 3-1 at 30 June Stadium.
The Egyptian champions took an early lead after just two minutes when Noha Mamdouh scored from the spot.
Fatumatu Dukureh doubled Wadi Degla lead, before As Mande halved the deficit at the 32nd minute, through Awa Traore.
After the break, Wadi Degla restored their two goal lead when Jassmin Theresa made it 3-1.
Degla goalkeeper Elham "Nasra" Abdelmalek made some critical saves to keep her side's historic vicrory.
