Heartland still owe me N11m says Fidelis Ilechukwu

Plateau United coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, says he’s still being owed N11m by his former club, Heartland FC, BSNSports.com.ng gathered.

Ilechukwu, who spent two seasons with Heartland after parting ways with Lagos-based MFM FC after over a decade, replaced Abdul Maikaba as Plateau United gaffer in August.

Despite leaving the Owerri-based club for new managerial adventures in Jos, Ilechukwu says he is still owed and hopes his outstanding salaries and allowances will be paid soon.

“I’m still being owed over N11m by Heartland FC,” Ilechukwu told The PUNCH.

“I know they will pay me my money, I don’t want to have any issue with them. I’m still waiting to see what’s going to happen but I believe they will pay me.

“I know the management appreciates hard work and someone who has worked deserves his pay,” the former Nigeria U-23 assistant coach added.

Last year, Heartland owed players and the coaching crew for over six months, while in February 2021, team members were reportedly owed five months’ salaries.
