Henry Onyekuru’s Agent Prefers Long Term Deal With Galatasaray

Henry
AS Monaco of France striker, Henry Onyekuru is on the verge of leaving the French Ligue 1 club in the coming month, and he could be heading back to Galatasaray of Turkey in a full contract, not a loan deal, BSNSports.com.ng reports. This is he verdict of the Super Eagles’ lad’s agent, who confessed that a loan deal looks more plausible for Onyekuru at the club he has two previuous stints with in the past three years, but says he would prefer a long-term contract. A return to Gala now appears on the cards for the product of Aspire football Academy, who has also played for KAS Eupen and RSC Anderlecht of Belgium, with a contract at Everton of England in between, but he failed to make his mark in two spells with Monaco. Although Al-Jazira of United Arab Emirates are also reportedly interested in signing Onyekuru in the January transfer window, the youngster is under contract with Monaco until June 2024 and a loan deal back at Galatasaray could be his best bet next month. Though he is deemed surplus to requirements at Monaco, where he has not played any official game for more than three months, the Ligue 1 outfit are not keen on selling Onyekuru, but his agent prefers a full transfer for the lad, who previously enjoyed two successful loan stints in the Turkish Super Lig with Galatasaray. During his time with the Istanbul-based side, Onyekuru scored 17 goals in 56 appearances and helped them win the Turkish Super Lig and Cup in 2019, but, while his agent has now confirmed that The Lions are considering the possibility of getting his ward on loan once again, he would prefer a permanent switch rather than another short-term deal. Onyekuru’s agent told les-transferts.com: “There are rumors. It comes to my ear. Galatasaray is an important option for Onyekuru. Transfer or loan, we’ll see. But I hope it will be for the long term. I cannot say anything about the state of the discussions with Monaco.”
