High Court Stops NFF From Conducting New Election, Normalization Committee In Delta FA

An High Court sitting in Warri, Delta State has restrained the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, from conducting new election in Delta State Football Association, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The High court on Monday 16th March, issued an interlocutory injunction stopping NFF, its president, Amaju Pinnick, Secretary General, Mohammed Sanusi, Henry Nkeki, Emma Nunu, Mitchell Amami and Azuka Ogosi from taking any step or action to prevent the claimants (Barbar Ebimowei and Onovughakpo Ekugbawa) and Delta Football Association from carrying out, regulating, or organizing football activities in Delta state.

The court also stopped and warned anyone parading themselves as member of 'Normalization Committee' to desist from doing so or face the wrath of law pending the hearing and determination of substantive suit.

In the court order with Suit No: W/66/2020, made available to www.bsnsports.com.ng, which was served on motion notice brought pursuant to Order 38 of the High Court of Delta State 2009 and under the inherent jurisdiction of the honourable court, reads:

"An order of interlocutory injunction restraining the defendants (NFF, Amaju Pinnick, Muhammed Sanusi, and four others) by themselves, agents, privies, proxies or any other person whatsoever acting under instruction or from further their taking any steps or action to prevent the claimants or any other lawful of the Delta State Football Football Association from carrying out or regulating football activities in any part of Delta State or in Nigeria pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.

"An order of interlocutory injunction restraining the defendant from taking any further steps or conducting fresh election into the Congress or General Assembly, Executive Board or any other Committee, body or organ of Delta Football Association.

"An order of interlocutory injunction restraining the defendants or any other persons from parading themselves as members of "Normalization Committee" of the Delta State Football Association or taking any steps to regulate or organize any football activities in Delta state."
