How NFF Uses LMC To Defraud Nigerian Government - Baribote By Adeola Adekuroye Former Nigeria Premier League (NPL) Chairman, Barrister Rumson Baribote has unveiled how Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has been using Shehu Dikko and League Management Company to swindle Nigerian government. Baribote who spoke with www.bsnsports.com.ng faulted how Nigeria Football Federation board was composed and described it illegal because according to him Shehu Dikko was fraudulently picked to be the Second Vice President of the federation. "In the composition of the NFF, Article 32 of the Federation statute is clear abut it, which states that the Chairman of the league shall be the 2nd Vice President of the Federation but in this case, Shehu Dikko is not the Chairman of the league. He is only Chairman League Management Company, (LMC) a privately owned registered company put in place to manage the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) owned by the government. He stated further that it is fraudulent, deceitful and crooked to run a private company (LMC) with government funds. "LMC is different from NPFL, LMC is a limited liability privately owned company registered with Corporate Affair Commission (CAC) managing the Nigerian leagues while NPFL a public property which is a creation of the NFF, a government parastatal. So, it is fraudulent and deceitful to use funds received from government property to run a privately owned company." He added that Shehu Dikko as Chairman, LMC cannot be Chairman of the League because League Chairman is attained by election and not by selection. "Chairman, League Management Company, can be appointed while NPFL Chairman cannot be appointed, one can only get there through election by the 20 NPFL Clubs." [caption id="attachment_13485" align="alignnone" width="300"] Shehu Dikko[/caption] He insisted that the right thing must done as it was in the past. "During the time of former Nigeria Premier League chairman, Oyuki Obaseki, he was elected by the twenty league clubs as the Chairman of the NPL. "So, it is fraudulent using government money to run a private company and also using it illegally to attain the position of 2nd Vice Chairman of the NFF, " he concluded.
