I am Ready To Play For Nigeria...Kelechi Kalu By Niyi Busari Nigerian born Mississauga FC midfielder, Kelechi Kalu has said that he is ready, committed and will be proud to don the green white green jersey of his fatherland whenever he is called to play. The former Arsenal and Chelsea U-12 attacking midfielder further stated that he is familiar with Nigeria culture, people and knows how to socialise with Nigerians, therefore, to acclimatise to weather and relate with his fellow Nigerian players will not be a challenge as he is committed to play and give his best to the most populous black nation. Speaking with www.bsnsports.com.ng, the 18 year old said: "I am 100% committed to play for Nigeria and will be proud to wear the Nigeria jersey and do my best when I am invited." Reacting to whether he can cope with the weather and culture of Nigerians, the Abia state born teenager said: "I am very familiar with Nigeria culture, people and to socialise with fellow Nigerian players will never be a challenge." "I look up to Austin J.J Okocha and Kanu Nwankwo because of the flair and ease with which they play the game. I also admire Wilfred Ndidi, Ogu and Mikel Obi in the present Super Eagles team." He added that he is able to excel in combining education with football career because of the passion and dedication indulged in working hard to be the best he can.
