Michael Babatunde is reeling in confidence that reigning CAFChampions League champions Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco can defend their title after the Moroccan outfit extended their unbeaten run in the current campaign to four games.
Babatunde made his second appearance in the CAF Champions League providing an assist for Wyday Casablanca’s second goal as they defeated Horoya 2-0 on Saturday.
Ivorian Cheick Comara headed Wydad Casablanca into the lead on 12 minutes before Mohammed Ounnajem added the second six minutes later after a brilliant work from Babatunde from the left flank.
The assist was his second in two CAF Champions League games.
“We are close to making it to the semi-finals again but we still need to be consistent,” Babatunde told BSN.
“We have a good chance to win this tournament again but we must work harder.”
“I’m enjoying my football again and I hope to win this Cup with Wydad.”
Wydad Casablanca lead group C with eight points from four games and will host secind place Mamelodi Sundown in their next game in August.
