The president of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engr. Musa Nimrod says he is fulfilled and satisfied with the success and progress so far recorded under his leadership.
He stated this on the side-lines of the ongoing Nigeria Volleyball Premier League at Package B, National Stadium Abuja.
“I feel fulfilled that even if tomorrow I am no more the president of the federation, he noted.
According to him, he is present just to observe proceedings and where necessary, he will advise the organisers of the league.
He however expressed his delight at the quality of the young players he has seen so far.
“It is clear now that we have players in the next two years that Africa will know that Nigeria has arrived.”
“Remember that our national team has been disbanded but one thing is that you can’t throw away the old honey. We have to combine the old players with the new ones. We have fantastic young players,” he said.
Nimrod also revealed that he is more concerned about the development of the game which involves developing the coaches, referees while bemoaning the lack of sponsors.
“We have a product to sell and it is fantastic despite the lack of sponsors. We ask why sponsors run away. We encourage more club sponsorships. The door is open for all and we will have more collaborations,” he noted.
He however noted that clubs who failed to participate in the league will be fined N200, 000 and won’t participate in next year’s league according to the rules of the League Management Company.
