  ICC U19 Africa Regional Qualifiers: 36 Teenagers Invited As Nigeria Host Africa Akanimo Kufre As Nigeria Cricket Federation NCF prepares to host the rest of Africa in the U19 qualifiers, 36 teenage Cricketers have been invited to Abuja camp on 3rd May 2021. Some of the invited players include Paul Pam, Kingsley Uduak, Elijah Saturday, and Ridwan Kareem. Also on the list are Chijoke Okafor, Prosper Useni and Selim Salau. It is confirmed so far that release letters and arrival date has been issued to the youngsters to effect school authorities as well as parents to allow their participation in the prestigious sporting event. The NCF Secretary, Mr. Taiwo Oris has confirmed that 20 players would be selected from the 36 so far invited during schedule trial matches till 9th of May 2021. "Everything is in place to see the best of our players. As you know we can't repeat actions and expect a different result, we want to do something better than before. That's why we're calling them for trial matches." Nigeria is currently a champion in Africa Cricket thanks to Sylvester Okpe led U19 squad in 2019 competition. The selected Nigeria U19 Cricket team would be handled by Coach Uthe Ogbemi with Coach Asanka Gurushinha giving technical support. The NCF Secretary has also confirmed Nigeria's readiness in terms of Cricket facilities preparations to host the Africa Cricket event in October 2021. "The ICC team will soon visit Nigeria once more to confirm our readiness to host the qualifiers" Nigeria Cricket Federation presently can boast with 3 standard Cricket pitches with two undergoing upgrading process. The Lagos and Abuja according to sources and currently under upgrade while Edo State Cricket pitch is in perfect condition.
