Sierra Leone won the toss and batted 102 total runs in the first inning. Nigeria made an easy chase to score 103 to win by 5 wickets with 24 balls left. Nigeria's captain Blessing Etim batted 27 runs off 31 balls and had the best bowling economy to win the Player of the Match award. Blessing's teammates from Uyo, Esther Sandy and Omonye Asika both contributed 17 runs each to help Nigeria chase down Sierra Leone's 102 runs. Salome Sunday one of Nigeria's strong hitters had a bad day as she played only one run before being dismissed by a catch through Aminata Kamara of Sierra Leon.
