Odion Ighalo was benched as Manchester United fell to a 2-1 defeat against Istanbul Basaksehir in their UEFA Champions League clash on Wednesday night, BSNSports.com,ng reports. Ighalo is yet to make an appearance for the Red Devils in the competition this season. The match was lively in the opening half, with Demba Ba and Visca scoring for the hosts, while Antony Martial scored the consolation for United. The Red Devils fell behind after just 13 minutes as former Premier League star Ba exposed their poor defending. The loss was the first for Man United in the current campaign in Europe and is their second successive defeat following the 1-0 home loss to Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday. However, Basaksehir didn’t have a point or a goal to their name in this season’s competition but a resilient performance earned a famous and deserved first Champions League victory for the Turkish champions
