Ighalo May Return To Super Eagles

By Sampson Adedeji

Less than a year after he announced his retirement from the Nigeria's Super Eagles, striker Odion Jude Ighalo might stage a comeback into the team.

The former Changchun Yatai attacker left the national team after helping the team to a third-place finish at the 2019 African Cup Of Nations in Egypt, BSN Reports.

While speaking to Brila fm Radio on Thursday, Ighalo cited distance as one of the reasons he left the team but says now that he has moved to England, anything can happen.

“I am still in contact with Gernot Rohr and Amaju Pinnick, and they congratulated me on my loan deal.”

“I am still thinking about returning to the national team, but right now I want to concentrate on my club career”

“I left the national team because of the distance between Nigeria and China, but now that I am in Manchester and just like life and in my career, you never can tell”, he told Brila FM.

Before leaving the Super Eagles, Ighalo emerged top scorer during 2019 African Cup Of Nations qualifier and he also won the Golden Boot of the competition in Egypt.
