Ighalo promises Al-Shabab fans more goals

Al-Shabab – Former Nigeria international forward Odion Ighalo says his first goal in the demolition of Al-Nassr on Saturday is the first of the many goals he will score for his new Saudi Arabia club, Al-Shabab, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Ighalo scored the fourth of the 4-0 win in added time at the King Saud University stadium and the Nigerian took to Twitter to promise fans he is going to deliver more goals for the club. ‘The first of many more to come by God’s grace. Forza Al-Shabab,’ the forwarded retweeted a message by his fans. Al-Shabab are currently leading the Saudi Arabia Pro League table with 38 points from 18 games,four more than Al Hilal who are in action today and Al Ahli. Al-Shabab fans will be relying on Ighalo to score the goals that will deliver their seventh league title by dethroning reigning 16-time champion Al Hilal. Ighalo has delivered the goals wherever he has played. He scored 13 times and provided six assists in 73 LaLiga games before switching to the Premier League where he found the back of the net 17 times in 67 appearances and five goals in 10 FA Cup games. The Nigerian scored 46 times in 72 games in the Chinese Super League. The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations top scorer joined Al-Shabab last month early this month after his year-long loan deal with his boyhood club, Manchester United ended at the end of January. The Nigerian scored five goals in 22 games in all competitions for the Red Devils. He will be looking forward to scoring in front of his home fans on Wednesday when Al-Shabab host Al-Fateh at the Al-Shabab club stadium. Ighalo will also be seeking to score more than the 11 goals Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa scored in 57 games in Saudi Arabia.
