Ighalo returns misses penalty in Shenhua loss

By Sampson Adedeji

After two months of absence from the national team, former Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo on Sunday returned to action in the Chinese Super league club Shanghai Shenhua.

BSN reports that Ighalo was ruled out of action in July following hamstring injury he sustained in the Super Eagles third place playoff against Carthage Eagles of Tunisia at the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Tianjin Teda netted their third goal against Shanghai Shenhua before former Watford striker was introduced for Italian international Stephen El Sharaawy in the 55th minute.

Ighalo was unlucky in the 85th minute after he missed a spot kick awarded to Shenhua. His resumption will be a blessing to the club as they continue to fight the drop.
