Ighalo Reveals Role Ahmed Musa Played In His Move To Saudi Arabia

Al-Shabab of Saudi Arabia striker, Odion Jude Ighalo has revealed the role played by Nigeria’s captain, Ahmed Musa in encouraging him to sign up in the oil rich Middle East country, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Although Musa has since left the same country, after starring for two years with Al-Nassr but left on the strength of a mutual agreement with the team’s management, the fleet-footed attacker-cum-winger had already put in a word for the league to encourage Ighalo. Musa’s positive verdict about the Saudi scene turned out to be the push Ighalo needed to accept the offer from Al-Shabab, where he has hit the ground running with three goals and assist so early in his sojourn, thereby setting the stage for another highpoint in his itinerant career. He has now taken early stock of his days in the Arab nation and confessed that Musa played a key role in his decision to move to Saudi Professional Football League, following his departure from Manchester United in the January transfer window. He has now working hard to help Al-Shabab stay top of the table and do even better than Musa, who enjoyed success in his first season of his stay in the same country, as he helped Al-Nassr win the league title. Ighalo told Sada Al Malaeb: “Musa praised the strength of the league, and by virtue of my friendship with him, I was watching his matches, and the Saudi League is an important and strong league. “I’m happy to be here as everyone in the club works professionally and provides all means of success. In fact I joined Al-Shabab to give my best, make the difference and help them win the league and delight the fans. “Al-Shabab is at the top of the standings but the five-point difference does not mean anything, so we have to continue the good work and continue winning.”
