Ighalo Will Be Welcomed Back To Super Eagles - Rohr
By Sampson Adedeji
Nigeria's Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has cleared the air on how former striker Odion Jude Ighalo can stage a return to the Super Eagles, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Former Shanghai Shenhua of China forward retired from the Super Eagles at the end of 2019 African Cup Of Nations in Egypt where he emerged top scorer with 5 goals.
Since he left the National team, Ighalo has played for Shanghai Shenhua and Manchester United before joining Saudi Arabia Premier League Club Al Shabab FC.
Rohr while speaking through Super Eagles YouTube channel, he underlined Ighalo fitness and experience as the key reason he might return to the team.
" I'm happy that Ighalo secured a good contract, he has to think about life after football but he's still very fit.
If he's playing very well for his club in Saudi Arabia Al Shabab FC, there is no reason no to take him back in the Super Eagles.
The question is if he's want to come back, we hope so, because we have a very young team and his experience can be useful to his strike partner and also score goals for us," he said.
