IHF Trophy: Nigeria U18 Women Team Edge Niger, Qualify For Next Round of African World Cup Qualification By Niyi Busari Nigeria's national U18 Women Team defeated hosts, Niger Republic (30-31) in their third match at the ongoing African Zone 3 International Handball Federation competition in Niamey, BSN Sports can report. The hosts, Niger were leading in the first set with 2 points as it ended 17-15. The Nigeria U18 Women team came back stronger in the second half to win their third game with just a point (30-31). The Cadet team had humiliated Togo 50-11, defeated Benin Republic 34-22 before edged past the hosts, 30-31. Four African countries, Togo, Benin Republic, Niger Republic and Nigeria participated in the championship. The Nigeria Cadet team will on the March 1st play against the runners-up, Niger Republic in the final of the championship. However, the Nigeria U18 cadet team have qualified for the next round of African qualification for the U18 women handball world cup.
