Former Nigeria's Super Eagles goalkeeper Ike Shorunmu has heaped praises on Nigeria's Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa on his decision to return to Nigeria Professional Football League ( NPFL), BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Kano Pillars earlier in the week announced the capture of the former Leicester City winger on short term, decisions that was well welcome by football followers across the country.
Shorunmu who himself was among the players that returned home before retirement while speaking to Brila said the decision is good for both the players and the national team.
" His return to the league is a welcome development and it's a great one for our football and Musa himself.
We have to applaud his courage as well, because not everyone will love to return home to play football again after several years in Europe.
Again maybe he's trying to stay fit for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers which is also good for the national team," he said.
Musa left Nigeria in 2009 after emerging top scorer in the league with 18 goals.
