Ikhana Advises Rohr On What To Do To Win AFCON 2021
By Niyi Busari
Former Enyimba International coach, Kadiri Ikhana has said that Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr can win the next African Nations Cup in Cameroon if he perfects his game strategies, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
The former Nigeria U23 national team in an interview session with BSN Sports stated that in football, nothing is impossible and nothing is 100 percent sure.
The former Kano Pillars gaffer believe that the Super Eagles have crop of players that can win the African Nations Cup adding that the game of football is filled with surprises.
"In football I will say nothing is impossible, i have been in football for sometime now and impossibility you think can come to be possible." Ikhana told BSN Sports.
"But the issue of winning, you can give somebody a condition no doubt about it but football is not a draft game or something you say this or that must happen, but I know that the national team we have now is blessed with young and upcoming one and I believe we can create something out of nothing .
"I believe he should perfect his strategy very well and lead Eagles to success, that is the only thing that will gladden our hearts, everybody want to win but football is not like that, he might win and might not win.
"Looking at the most games we have played, so far, I think from one game to another, the team is improving, don't let us judge him other way round.
"I think he's improving per match, every match he plays, he improves. You can't win all, you must win some and lose some.
"The only thing I want him to do, he has to perfect his strategy very well because he has seen the strength and weakness of the team, he should work on the weakness and improve on the strength of the team, that is my advise and with that I think we will go places.
He praises the NFF for forcing Gernot Rohr to reside in Nigeria and go to match venues to watch and discover home grown talents for the Super Eagles.
"I think the condition given to Rohr is a welcome idea, that he has to observe the local boys and also reside in the country.
Kadiri Ikhana guided Enyimba International to African Champions League success in 2003 and was awarded CAF's Best Coach of The Year, same year.
