I'm free to sign for any club - Otegbeye
By Adams Jesse Odoba-Yacham
The fairly stale on how Sunshine Stars escaped the drop during the 2016/2017 NPFL season will never be complete without Ajibola Otegbeye's goals.
The former Kwara United, ABS and Akwa United striker left ABS to sign for the Akure gunners before his fine form secured him a mouthwatering deal to then continental faithful, Akwa United.
Otegbeye who was with the Owena Whales for last season is currently without a club as he informed our correspondence in a chat that Sunshine Stars failed to fulfill their own part of the agreement that returned him to the club after a short stint with Akwa United.
"I came back to Sunshine stars on loan and as I chat with you my contract with them has expired since last October without paying me a dime for last season (both lone fees and some months salary) and they still want me to extend my loan stay with the side".
"I have informed them of my stance through my agent that if they want me to continue with them then they will have to do the needful and clear my outstanding from last season".
On the rumor meddling around that he had signed for former league champions, Plateau United the soft spoken attacker dispelled the rumour by disclosing to us that he is yet to sign for any side as against what is going round in the media.
"I honestly don't know where all these rumors are emanating from as I am yet to sign for any side though I am opened to any offer but I have not pitched my tent with any side, he said".
When asked if he will love it if his romance with Sunshine Stars would continue, he revealed that he has no problem with anyone at the club and he is more than willing to play for the side but the Akure gunners know what to do to make that a reality.
"I am much available for them as soon as they are ready to do what is right and clear up all my outstanding then we will continue where we stopped".
