I'm Still In Contact With Passeiro - Pinnick

President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Melvin Pinnick has confirmed that he is still in contact with coach Jose Passeiro, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
The Portuguese gaffer was announced to take over the position of Super Eagles head coach after the just concluded African Cup of Nations while Technical Director of the Federation Austin Eguavoen was saddled with the responsibilities of leading the team to Cameroon.
Since the ouster of Nigeria in the round of 16, Passeiro is yet to assume his position as the coach while NFF has also stated that no official agreement.
Pinnick who responded to a question on Channels TV said they still discussing with the Sports ministry on the matter but the gaffer can move on to another job if the offer comes.
“I am still talking to him (Peseiro), maybe he has to wait till after the World Cup playoffs against Ghana.
“If in the course of his waiting he got another job, we wish him well."
“The good news is that we did not sign the contract officially.
“We don’t want to rush and make a hasty decision considering the circumstances.
“We have to do what is best for the nation.
“And we work in harmony with the sports ministry, which represents the government," he said.
