IMO FA BOSS AMANZE UCHEGBULEM SALUTES NEW GOV. HOPE UZODINMA

Imo State Football Association chairman, Mazi Amanze Uchegbulam has dispatched congratulatory message to the new governor of the state, Senator Hope Uzodinma following his victory at the Supreme Court.
Uzodinma was on Tuesday declared rightful winner of the March 9 gubernatorial election in the state.
Uzodinma who contested the poll on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC, had lost the poll to Rt Hon. Emeka Ihedioha of the People's Democratic Party, PDP.
ihedioha was declared winner by Independent Electoral Commission INEC, but Uzodinma, alongside Uche Nwosu of action Alliance, and Ifeanyi Ararume of All Progressives Grand Alliance headed to court against Ihedioha's victory.
The electoral litigations ended Tuesday in Abuja when the Supreme Court invalidated Ihedioha's victory and proclaimed Uzodinma as the validly elected governor of Imo State.
Now, Amanze Uchegbulam who was a former Vice President of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has congratulated the new governor for his emergence as the governor of the Heartland State.
"i must say congratulations to His Excellency, Gov. Hope Uzodinma for his victory at the Supreme Court", Uchegbulem started.
"It is a victory that did not come easy, he fought doggedly and patiently to reclaim his mandate.
"I say congratulations to him once again".
The Imo FA boss would solicit for government's financial support to the state team, Heartland,as they continue to progress in the ongoing 2019/2020 Nigeria Professional Football League.
The former vice president of CAF Appeals Board told reporters in Owerri Thursday that he is concerned with the welfare of Heartland FC in their campaign in the current NPFL.
"I'm concerned about the welfare of the team as any shortfall in funds could affect the team's campaign in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
"The incoming governor is a true lover of the game of football and Heartland, being a state team and currently doing well in the league, should be encouraged financially in order to sustain their present form".
It would be recalled that the Naze Millionaires on Sunday ended the winless run against Abia Warriors of Umuahia, turning them back with a 1-0 defeat. They fellowed that result up with an incredible 2-0 victory over defending champions, Enyimba, in Aba for the first time in Nine (9) years.
