In-form Ex-U23 Defender Knocks On Eagles Door

Versatile ex-Nigerian u23 defender, Kelechi John is one of the players seriously knocking on the Super Eagles' door following his impressive performance at Portuguese club.
Kelechi is one of Casa Pia Athletic FC of Portugal stand-out performers, continuing from where he started two previous seasons after joining the club from another Portuguese power house Rio Ave FC.
With 28 consistent club appearances last season, the Nigerian born former U-23 has been rock solid in the heart of Casa Pia Athletic FC defence, helping them push for promotion to the top flight.

He helped the team to be just a point different from league leaders Rio Ave FC in the Portuguese second tier division. Kelechi John was voted best defender while at Rio Ave FC, a feat that earned him a call up to the Nigerian U23 Eagles in 2019.
A ball winning and ball holding defender who can play from both the left and right flank of defence. His style of play shows he likes to do layoffs, has a massive counter attack threat, indirect set-piece threat, likes to play long balls and he's also a good dribbler besides possessing an outstanding defensive ability.
His ball winning and holding skills and all round play has attracted interest from two top division sides in Israel.
