Infantino Proposes Four-Year CAF Super League, AFCON Competitions

The President of Federation of International Football Asociation (FIFA), Gianni Infantino has proposed that African Cup of Nations should be moved from biennial tournament to a four-year competition.
Since inceptions, the African World Cup has been held every two years but the appropriate time of the year to play the tournament has generated a lot of major discussions.
AFCON which was held in the summer of 2019 has been reversed back to its original time for the 2021 edition which is slated for Cameroon.
Infantino confirmed that by moving the competition to every four years, the continent will generate six times of their income now.
He further proposed that Super League should be establish among top Africa club side .
He said top two teams should represent each country and with that the continent can generate $200 million every year.
The decisions are yet to be ratified by the Confederation of African football.
