Nigeria's Super Eagles and Bologna of Italy midfielder Kingsley Michael has undergone successful surgery on his injured ankle, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
The Nigeria international sustained the injury in the club league game against Udinese last weekend and has to be replaced later in the game.
The club confirmed the successful operation through its official website and further disclosed that Michael will stay in the hospital for few days.
" This afternoon Michael Kingsley underwent reduction surgery with osteosynthesis of the fracture of the left fibula remedied during the Udinese-Bologna match.
The operation, performed by the team of Dr Roberto Bevoni at the Bentivoglio Hospital, was perfectly successful.
The player will observe a few days of hospitalization and then undertake the rehabilitation process," the club said.
Meanwhile, former Golden Eaglets player will miss the 2021 African Cup of Nations as he has been ruled out of action for 4 months.
