Osimhen walked out of training ahead of Napoli’s Serie A clash against Salernitana, citing discomfort in his muscle. He underwent a test to determine the nature of the injury, and it revealed a contracture of his right gastrocnemius. The player has begun a treatment programme and will be re-assessed over the coming days. A return date is not known, but Osimhen could be back in a few days, depending on the extent of the injury. Osimhen’s absence is a big blow for the Neapolitans as he has been their best player in all competitions this season. The former Lille man has started the new campaign like a house on fire with nine goals in 12 matches across all competitions for the Neapolitans.
